Weld-On® 729™ Low VOC CPVC Solvent Cement, High Strength, Extra Heavy Body, Slow Set, Gray, Gallon

Weld-On® P 70™ is an industrial grade, low VOC emission, non-bodied, fast-acting primer. The strong, aggressive action of Weld-On® P 70™ primer rapidly softens and dissolves the joining surfaces of PVC and CPVC pipe and fittings. The benefit of this priming action is especially noticeable on parts being joined together in cold weather. Available in clear and purple; the latter allows easy identification when used on the joining surfaces. Weld-On® P 70™ primer, when used in conjunction with appropriate Weld-On® solvent cements, will make consistently strong, well-fused joints. It is essential that the joining surfaces of pipe and fittings be softened and remains softened prior to assembly. The main function of the primer is to expedite the penetration and softening of the surfaces. Its rate of penetration into the joining surfaces is more rapid than that of solvent cement alone. Weld-On® P 70™ primer is suitable for use with all types, classes and schedules of PVC and CPVC pipe and fittings. It is specially recommended for use on Schedule 80 and large pipe sizes. Weld-On® P 70™ has a shelf life of three years in a tightly sealed container.

CTS CPVC pipe and fittings are used for hot and cold domestic water distribution. For use where the operating temperature will not exceed 180°F at 100 psi. The fittings are copper tube sized and are ideally suited for water applications due to their corrosion resistance rating. Both pipe and fittings are manufactured to exacting standards in order to give a tight reliable fit.

Chlorinated polyvinyl chloride (CPVC) is created by subjecting PVC resin to a post chlorination reaction that results in additional chlorine atoms on the base molecule. This results in a thermoplastic material similar to PVC with added advantages: a higher heat distortion temperature and improved fire performance properties at relatively low cost compared to alternative materials. As with PVC, the physical properties of CPVC can be altered considerably to provide desirable properties by compounding techniques. CPVC provides an economic solution for piping utilized in process piping, hot water, and similar service applicatons where operating conditions exceed the recommended temperature limits of PVC.
